Once upon a time a cheap cruise may have meant exactly that; something cheap and nasty. Today, cheap doesn’t mean being banished to the lower decks and forgotten; it just means people have shopped around for the best cruise deals and because of the competitive nature of the industry, usually find some amazing bargains.

Have you been thinking of “biting the bullet” and booking yourself on a cruise but have kept putting it off because you’re thinking it costs a fortune. All I can say is… don’t put it off any longer!

Thousands of people are now enjoying the world’s oceans not just once, but many keep going back again and again. Why? It’s a cheap holiday. And better still, you’re treated and pampered like royalty most of the time.

There is a cruise for everyone. For singles, honeymooners, children, and for those of us getting on a bit in life, yes… even us! There are short cruises, medium length and for those who love an adventure on the high seas, extended cruises.

The facilities on board today’s cruise-liners are simply out of this world. Like floating palaces they cut a swathe through some of the most magnificent areas in the world today. How about through the Bahamas, the Florida Keys and the Caribbean: what about the history filled Mediterranean; the beautiful Asia-Pacific region or for those who really love an adventure…Alaska!

Do you know what the best part is? It doesn’t cost a fortune. Sometimes as low as a few hundred bucks. And it’s not as if you have to look hard for the best deals. They are jumping out at you everywhere.

Last Minute Cheap Cruise Deal Tips

#1.. Last minute cruises can be more thrilling than vacations that are planned several months in advance because they have that extra element of spontaneity and surprise.

#2.. In order to get the best last minute cruise offers one must have an adaptable approach. If you are prepared to travel during times that many prefer not to you can often get a great bargain. For example cruises to the Caribbean during hurricane season are generally very reasonably priced.

#3.. You will also save cash if you do not mind sleeping in an inside cabin. Furthermore the nearer you book to the actual departure date the more cash you are likely to save because cruise lines become increasingly desperate to fill vacant cabins.

#4.. Before booking a last minute cruise take a good look around to see if there are any better offers. You will need to make sure there are no hidden costs such as government taxes or port charges. Also check to see if the cruise is a round trip or not. Some one-way cruises require vacationers to find their own way home. This could involve a rather costly flight, especially if you have booked a transatlantic cruise.

#5.. The best months for finding last minute cruise deals are January through March. Cruise lines and travel websites know that people want to escape to a place with a warmer climate when the weather at home is cold. Therefore they make the prospect of a short cruise even more inviting by lowering their prices.

People who book a last minute cruise deal during the winter often receive extras such as a free upgrade to a better cabin or credit that can be used on board the ship for luxuries such as a spa or sauna.

#6.. Never be tempted to book up a last minute cruise deal before comparing and contrasting prices elsewhere first. Check to see if another cruise line offers a similar vacation for less. Look around to see what is available at different travel websites and agents to see if you can get the same vacation with the same cruise line for a few dollars less elsewhere.

#7.. When booking a last minute cruise deal ask yourself if you are really getting good value for money. Will the reduced cost of the vacation mean making certain sacrifices? For example, would you be prepared to sleep in an inside cabin if it meant saving a few hundred dollars?

Singles Only – Why Not Take a Singles Cruise?

Imagine being able to meet other singles for a total of seven days or more in an environment that is not only beautiful, but is also filled with excitement. This can be very possible by joining a singles cruise. Many of these cruises can be found by simply searching through some of the online dating sites that cater for this type of event. One of the more popular types of packages are the cruises around the Caribbean islands.

In most cases, these cruises are usually around seven nights and are an all-inclusive package. The price can vary at around nine hundred US dollars and up. The one big difference about these cruises is that it is for singles only. This is great because you will be comfortable knowing that if you do mix with other singles on the cruise, you never have to question as whether they might have an interest or not in becoming more than friends with you.

While traveling around the Caribbean, everyone will be enjoying all-inclusive dinner packages and live events that have been catered just for singles.

These events are made to get everybody to socialize and interact with each other more effectively. One point to keep in mind however is that though it might be tempting to go crazy with all the alcohol they will have on board, try to take it easy on yourself otherwise you won’t really be able to utilize your full potential when it comes to flirting with your potential partners.

While the environment is generally safe, it is still crucial that you are careful and act responsibly. Remember, the idea is to meet someone special in your life while at the same time having fun in the safest environment possible. Cruises can definitely offer this as long as you are responsible in your actions.

Drinking too much, or drinking until you are unable to have any type of control over yourself can put you and other singles at risk.

Another great feature that comes with these singles cruises is that you get to visit the different islands. This type of island hopping is a great way to socialize while having an adventure at the same time. Make sure you come well prepared with enough suntan lotion as the last thing you need is to get sunburn on such an exciting occasion.

In addition to this, many of these cruises also cater to specific age groups. This is great because it allows people of the same way of thinking to mingle with each other, thus creating a better environment to effectively find that perfect somebody in your life.

Searching for the latest in Cruise deals, try the last minute cruises of summer 2011

This article is about finding the best cruise deals and in turn guides you to the very Latest Last Minute Cruises of 2011 for you to peruse. Often, the quest to find you ideal holiday in the Twenty First Century begins with a Google search (other popular search engines are available, but for the purpose of the article we are examining a specific Google search.) Upon entering you desired search term into Google, such as – in this instance; ‘last minute cruses,’ you are thereafter provided with a list of websites which offer ‘last minute cruises’ and potentially cruise deals, but how do you know that these results are suitable for your families holiday needs? Well this is where we would insist you refine your search further. The alternative to refining your search deeper, is to begin clicking on some of the websites, naturally you will feel compelled to click who’s ever website is at the top of the list, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the first place listing will contain the most/ highest volume of Last Minute Cruises or even if they are the cheapest or most family friendly last minute cruises.

Within the Cruising holiday niche there are a selected number of cruise liners which offer cruise deals and last minute cruises; there are a limited number of cruise liners in the ocean which can provide such a service as a last minute cruise, even cruise and stay deals and for that matter, destination based cruises; for example, Mediterranean Cruises, Caribbean Cruises, cruises leaving from Southampton and so on, thus we are consumers are somewhat limited when searching for cruise deals, as not all cruise liners provide such a service, don’t let this affect your search as once you begin to research your ideal last minute cruise, if you were to take the name of the Ship and then begin to look specifically for that Cruise Ship, then this is just one way you will begin to piece together the very best cruise holiday for your budget.

Upon defining the cruise liners you want to travel on, it shall simply become a case of searching for the cruise operators who offer vacations and holidays on said chosen boat or vessel.

This way you move away from those websites which are competing for search engine traffic and you begin to find niche and small holiday affiliates and cruise providers websites, such as imaginecruising.co.uk, who are here to direct you straight to the very best cruise holiday deals online as these tour operators hold the key to dealing directly with the cruise liner provider.

I worte this article after researching a last minute cruise for my family and me. I found that the front page of google was a good palce to start looking, but the i soon discovered that if I searched for the cruise ship rather than a word such as cheap cruise deals, i began to find better and cheaper websites offering the same deals as some of those on the first page of the search engine, notably i found the imagine cruising website came up trumps in terms of deals offered vs price.

Guide to Enjoy a Carnival Cruise

Cruising has become a very popular and inexpensive way of traveling over the last decade. First time cruisers tend to miss out on a lot of fun and benefits not knowing what to do. Here are some ideas on how to get maximum fun out of a Carnival cruise and create long lasting memories.

If you have problem walking, you will want to book a cabin or stateroom toward mid and back of the ship where a short walk will take you to the elevator straight up to where you will frequent most, exp. pool, spa, food, shopping, live music and parties.

Pack plenty of clothes, especially underwear and socks. Laundry service on board can be expensive. exp. .00 per pair of socks. Self to do washer and Dryer in the laundry room takes endless coins and time to dry anything. Besides, who wants to get on a cruise to do laundry?

Start boarding early to avoid lines to check in. Once on board, check into your cabin or stateroom and make sure everything looks fine. Your luggage will be brought and left outside of your cabin. Do not bother to wait for them for you will never know when they get there. Take the opportunity to walk around and get acquainted with the ship.

Your first stop should be to the buffet. There is only a window of 30 -45 minutes on the first day for you to get something to eat a decent meal. If you miss that, you can always order room service from the limited menu. Please do not get discouraged by the disorganization it appears. Starting second day, things will be more predictable. Make sure you attend the orientation session so you will know what to expect.

Once thing I always try to avoid is the mandatory safety drill. Don’t try to get out of it by hiding in your room. It won’t work. They have come up with a system to make it almost impossible. However, you can minimize the agony by delaying your departure from your cabin and show up almost at the last minute and be the first one to leave as soon as it’s finished. Trust me, lining up with hundreds of passenger in puffed up life jackets is not your idea of having fun.

Sailing off is something you won’t want to miss. Check your schedule in your cabin to make sure you will be on the top deck at front of the ship when that happens. Wave at the camera crew whenever possible.

Whether you are going with a group of friends/family or just taking a trip for two. Go to the dining room first night to make a request so you group can be sited at the same table. You won’t like to sit with 6 strangers for dinner at a large table if you are planning to have romantic dinners for two. They are very good at accommodating guests if it can be done. Once arrangement is done, you will be sitting at the same table every night for dinner.

There is no need to go the dining room on the top deck. It is expensive and you really don’t get better food with the money you pay. All the other free food is already great.

Make sure you read the daily scheduled programs every night so you won’t miss all the activities and events you are interested next day. The nightly shows are fantastic. If you are those who go to bed early, arrange for early sitting for dinner and go to the early shows. Late shows are more exciting and sometimes are more adult oriented. Don’t get your imagination going wild here.

There is no better place for those who dream to be stars than the cruise ship. Spend sometime in the Karaoke bar and audition for the talent show and be the shiniest star ever with real cheering audience and the big band. Volunteer in the live shows whenever possible.

Try to participate in all activities and competitions on board. They will be filmed and a DVD can be purchased at end of the cruise for . It makes great souvenir.

There are usually two formal dinners when you need to dress up. You can never overdress for that. Plan to get ready very early and go to all the photo booths and try out all settings before going to dinner. It’s not comfortable to pose with a full stomach and the lines tend to be longer. Smile and pose for any crew photographers when possible. You only have to purchase the ones you like. One of the most exciting things to do on board is looking at photos. Make sure you make your purchase at end of the cruise so you can pick the best and must haves. They cost anywhere from .00 – .00 (5×7 – 8×10). Some of our best family portraits are from the cruise ship.

Dinners at the restaurant are more enjoyable for me. Standing in long lines for buffet style dinner reminds me of Hometown Buffet. I like to be pampered on my vacations. Besides, the performances by the servers are fun to watch. Ordering multiple entrees and desserts is OK. Your servers are more than happy to please you. I always double up on my lobsters and deserts. Ladies, do not worry about gaining weight. I usually lose 3-5 pounds on cruises. If all the walking and dancing won’t do the trick, there is a gym on board, too.

If you are travelling on a budget, try to avoid all sodas, liquors and that charming little coffee shop under the library with all the beautiful cakes smiling at you. You can enjoy your coffee and satisfy your sweet teeth at lunch and dinner time.

Try not to book your excursions when you book your cruise. Sometimes they have better deals on board. For sightseeing tours, I prefer to do on my own. The best way is to grab a cab and make a deal with the driver to show you everything there is to see in the area and they also know where to get the best food inexpensively.

For the spa lovers, the best deals are on port days when everyone gets off the ship and go ashore.

Make sure you enter in all raffles and show up on time. You will be surprised how much stuff you can win, mostly jewelry and cosmetics. I love shopping on the ship. Some of my favorite scarves, had bags, watches and jewelry are purchased on cruise ships. If you are a gem lover, do your research ahead so you will spot a steal when you see it. It’s tax free, too.

Stay away from the internet bar/Library unless you absolutely have to work on your vacation. You can easily spend hundreds there. However, you can check out board games and books for free.

For the food lovers, make sure you won’t miss the Mexican Buffet, the Chocolate Buffet and the Grand Gala event. Not only the food is to die for, the presentation is breathtaking. Take your camera with you.

If you cannot stay away from the casino, then set up a limit for yourself to win or lose. I like the Hotshot penny machines. I always end up winning small money.

The best hot tub is in the Gym area. Most people do not know it’s existence. It’s more quiet and private.

If time and budget allows, try to avoid cruises less than 5 days. The first day and last day really don’t count. By the time you get comfortable, it’s time to get off the ship already. And if you are taking cruises over 10 days, make sure you pack some Theraflu and airborne. People tend to get sick toward end of the cruise. A package of Theraflu costs .00 from the infirmary.

Hope you will enjoy a wonderful Carnival cruise next time to the max. Happy cruising!

There Are Numerous Cruise Ship Jobs As The Cruise Ship Industry Is Booming

Despite the economic downtrend, the cruise ship industry is said to be experiencing a booming business.  Cruise ship jobs abound, because in 2009 alone, eleven new ships have become fully operational. The shipping industry posted 12.6 million departures from U.S. ports last year which is an indication of the vigorous trend of cruise ship activities that will provide additional cruise ship jobs for 2010. It is projected that about more than 14 million North Americans will be boarding cruise ships this coming year.

A cruise ship is said to have in its employ about 500 at the least and 1,500 at the most in terms of crew staff and support groups. If the continuous boom in the shipping industry will be maintained, the major projections from cruise ship companies will result to additional 5 to 10 new luxury sea vessels that will ply the seas each year. At 5 new ships needing manpower at the very least figure of 500 per ship, that will be additional 2.500 new cruise ships jobs every year  to fill in.

You might wonder why there’s a high rate of turnover in cruise ship jobs, lest you think that this is a negative factor. Actually, cruise ship workers themselves don’t really stay on because they take cruise ship jobs only during vacations or spring breaks. Some of the regulars get promoted while some others try to find variety by changing cruise ships or cruise lines. Others have amassed considerable savings and have returned home to begin a new life.

This is not far from happening because the average cruise ship job contract may last for three months at the least and nine months of the most. Most of your cruise ships earnings will not be spent since your living expenses are practically free while your medical insurance is at the expense of the cruise line company.  Not to mention the tips you can get from guests who will be happy with your services. Although this is not something you should expect from all the guests but just one of the amenities of a cruise ship job of attending to the passengers’ needs.

Cruise ship jobs can be the most lucrative form of employment because of all the perks and benefits that come along with it. While on board you will be staying in a stateroom shared with another cruise staff while all your meals are free. If you find yourself docking at a distant land you can take a plane bound for home. Medical insurance is free and even your laundry services will be rendered free. As a cruise ship support group, you will be entitled to discounts at the ship’s stores and even in some of the bars, restaurants and shops on land. As if those benefits are not enough, your family and friends will be entitled to pay cruise rates at reduced prices when traveling aboard the company’s cruise ships.

Another indication of how cruise ship business is getting a good boost from increasing cruise passengers are seventeen new ports of call in the US which include New York City, New Orleans, Baltimore, Mobile and Charleston. In fact, cruise ship jobs will expand their itineraries all across the globe.

Curious now as to what kinds of cruise ship jobs await you? Work opportunities have a wide range of selection, from deckhand to ship officers. There are also manpower requirements for repairs and maintenance crew, tour guides, bartenders, food and beverage handlers, waiters, servers, gift shop personnel, recreation organizers, fitness directors, swimming pool lifeguards and so many more. You will surely find one that will fit your expertise or experience.

The good thing about cruise ship job openings is that there is no strict requirement for cruise ship experience. You can have any service related work experience in hotels, restaurants, night clubs, bars, boutiques, libraries, retail stores, health clubs, museums and a long list where you will surely have one to indicate as your work experience.

Find yourself a cruise ship job website which can help you prepare to land a cruise ship job. Get ideas on the kind of interview question to expect, document and licensing requirements where necessary, different travel tips and advice in informative materials. However, you may have to register as a member and pay a certain fee upon registration.

Nevertheless, you can always research the Internet for any information you’ll need or post questions at forum sites and ask opinions from others who have had experiences in cruise ship jobs.

Cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas

There is no mistaking a great ship like Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas with just any other cruise ship. Spend just a couple of hours on her and you will find out why.

“To the lover of wilderness, Alaska is one of the most wonderful countries in the world,” John Muir. I mention Alaska because that is the trip I took with my wife and in-laws when I sailed on Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship, the Serenade of the Seas.

For me it was the perfect cruise ship to set sail on for this type of 7 day fun and adventure. With it’s floor to ceiling windows from the Champagne Bar to it’s great construction of how the balconies off of the rooms were laid out so that you can speak to your neighbors without a huge wall interfering with you, made it that much better.

It had many ammenities such as a complete workout facility, an auditorium for events and shows, many gift shops and of course the spa and salon, a service which my wife and I took advantage of. We each signed up for the half hour massage, which was well worth its price tag. The masseuse was very professional and thorough and after talking to my wife hers was also just as good. Just keep in mind the price you pay does not include your tip and that really should be based on the level of service that you received.

Another great feature of the Serendae of the Seas are the separated pool areas. One is set up so that both the kids and adults can enjoy it and the other pool area is for adults only. I found it hard to believe that families would bring kids on an Alaskan cruise, but they did and there were a lot of them.

At the time my wife and I did not have any children so I did not partake in learning of any of the kids activities, but on the top deck there were basketball courts, volleyball courts, miniature golf and a slew of other activities to keep kids of all ages busy and it looked like they were having loads of fun.

For adults there were ample amounts of “watering holes” to choose from to wet you whistle at anytime during the day. If for some reason you just did not want to get out of your seat to belly up to the bar for a drink there were plenty of courteous waiters and waitresses ready to meet your every need.

The trip through the inner passage and seeing the Hubbard glacier, Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau was a great trip and I would highly recommend it. Seeing these sites from the beauty and comfort of Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas made it that much more enjoyable.

                    Royal Caribbean Cruise

Royal Caribbean cruise lines visit numerous ports of call all over the world.  In fact, the number of ports of call available reaches more than a hundred, that in almost every site and location of the globe, you will find a Royal Caribbean cruise at the docks.

You can be anywhere in the world on board a Royal Caribbean cruise; from the warm and sunny beaches of the Caribbean islands to its counterparts in Europe and the Mediterranean.  To help you decide on what better type of cruise to choose, here are some of the famous destinations of Royal Caribbean cruise plus some information on the things you can do while you are there.

Alaska is always the best place to visit when you want to enjoy vacations with snow and glaciers. You will be taken for a cruise on the whales’ migration routes where you can see whales passing through the same part of the sea for their annual trek.  A Royal Caribbean cruise will take you right alongside them as part of your cruise to Alaska’s snowy wilderness.  It is a great opportunity to see nature firsthand and to take stunning pictures of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Royal Caribbean cruise wouldn’t be called Caribbean for nothing if it didn’t have a cruise of its namesake.  But it’s called “royal” for all the majestic fun that you will experience while onboard and sailing the Caribbean seas.  The sun and sand are definitely the greatest assets of the Caribbean region where you can take some scuba diving or snorkeling lessons. It’s also where you can enjoy the authentic and exquisite cuisine offered by the island’s locals. There are countless ways to spend a vacation in the Caribbean with all the rich natural resources present in almost every island, historical and cultural sites and a diversity of marine life to explore deep under.  You’ll never run out things to do and enjoy in every island.

The Royal Caribbean cruise can also take you onboard for a tour of Europe.  The vibrant cities, the exciting nightlife and most importantly where most of the world’s history and early civilization originated from the most ancient, to medieval up to the modern era.  You can go on a land tour and visit the remains of ancient civilizations or just indulge in the glory of the world’s greatest artists found in Paris museums.  Any way you look at it, a trip to Europe is guaranteed to be a lot of fun.

One of the fastest growing cities to date is Dubai and Royal Caribbean cruise is offering you a chance to experience firsthand the latest technological advancements in architecture.  Even the hotels are the first of its kind as themes are taken to different levels of practicality.  For example the World Islands which is the largest man made islands can be found here. You will find every island and continent of the globe replicated and are offered to private developers at a price range that starts at US.85 million.

After the sightseeing trips, try their extreme sports like sand skiing or taking dune drives.  You may think of it as impossible but you can also ski on snow while in an arid region like Dubai. Visit the indoor skiing facilities, which come complete with actual snow slopes in a refrigerated and not just air-conditioned interior of the building.

Royal Caribbean cruise also offers repositioning tours.  It might sound a bit complex, but to make the long story short, it’s a cruise that will take you to places you do not expect and guaranteed to be at different ports of call every day.  This is where you’ll wake up in a different country each day where you can take a tour of that place while the ship is docked for that particular period.  This is a great way for you to enjoy a cruise especially if you really enjoy exciting adventures and surprises.

Enjoy a Trans Atlantic cruise which is another Royal Caribbean cruise that features a lot of destinations.  Here you will be able to visit the Canary Islands, Ireland, France and Portugal a lot of destinations just spells out a lot of fun.

Planning a cruise is easy, all you have to do is book with Royal Caribbean cruise. What to pack in your bags should be your main concern because you‘ll have all sorts of climate and weather to experience while visiting almost all parts of the globe.
